DB Lighting
Dan Brown
I work in theatres and events as a lighting designer, programmer and production electrician. I also work with projection mapping as well as a variety of other backstage skills.
My Favourite Projects

Judgment Day
During this show I took on two roles as video designer and lighting programmer. I enjoyed being able to bring my knowledge in the Adobe Suite, Resolume and QLab and apply it in an actual theatre production.
I worked closely with the director to perfect the requirements for the 1950s TV Screen which was done with a creative solution by putting a standard monitor inside of an old 1950s TV.
I also really enjoyed being the programmer and assistant electrician for the production and worked well with the LD to work as efficiently as possible during the technical rehearsals to make the designers ideas happen on stage.

Cinderella
My fourth panto with the Quince Players and I once again took on the role of co-designing, programming, and operating the show.
This was my second time working with Sarah Mathews as a director and as a result we worked well together and a lot of trust was given to the lighting team to make decisions.
Additionally, due to the absence of the microphones operator, I took on this role for three shows.

Newton Park
'Newton Park' was my first experience of being a Lighting Designer at Bath Spa University and was a unique experience. Rather than in a theatre, this production took place in the historic Main House on Newton Park which presented its own challenges for the production.
It was a fun production to be involved in and work out how to light the space using the limited resources available and having to make the most of doorways to have birdies on top of as well as the standard lighting available in the house.
It was a great production to add to my experience in dealing with tricky situations and working out how to make everything work across multiple rooms while disguising cables within the set.
